Location: Fremont, CAReporting to: Director, Program Management

 

Job Summary

 

This position resides with a vendor, i.e. SUN and ensures that materials are planned, provided and delivered in accordance with Project Management objectives for specific company projects.  This position also functions as a liaison between Sun Supplier Management and Backlog Management.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 Acts as a liaison between Sun Supplier management and Backlog management. Confers on a regular basis with senior management Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to support the nature of Sun's scope and business plan.

?  Responsible for executing materials requirements planning, purchasing and inventory management by  following standard department practices and procedures.  Manages priorities to rapidly changing requirements and resolving problems to achieve satisfactory customer service levels.

?  Manages inventory throughout the entire manufacturing process including but not limited to discrepancies, i.e. red hats and Materials Review Board (MRB) Implements and executes company guidelines for assigned vendor lines.

?  Performs analysis on shortage or critical items/skus on a regular basis.

?  Maintains current vendor status and provides regular progress reports to manager, on a short and long term basis. Communicates problems to MSM and GBM. Maintains and updates manufacturing logs and records on a regular basis including data entry in manufacturing system.  Processes claims for programs, rebates and special promotional program offers. 

 

Minimum Job Requirements

 

?  Bachelor?s Degree in business administration, materials management, or related degree with 2 years of related manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

?  Familiarity with inventory or purchasing management experience

?  Familiarity with manufacturing concepts, principles and practices

?  Familiarity with continuous improvement concepts and practices

?  Demonstrated business communications skills, including business savvy

?  Ability to work in a dynamic, flexible manufacturing environment

?  Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

?  Ability to learn specialized manufacturing software i.e. Oracle

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

?  Previous manufacturing company experience

?  Previous inventory or materials management experience
