Position: Resource Planner

Location: Morristown, TN

Function: Schedules all work in the plant on the various machines.

Purpose: The Master Scheduler is considered a key position of leadership within for the plant?s manufacturing process.  The Master Scheduler drives the formal planning system (MPS- Master Production Schedule) which initiates the procurement of materials, planning of labor and other important resources.  The Master Scheduler is responsible for balancing product output with Demand needs while using the minimum amount of capacity resources and production costs to accomplish the goal.  Good balancing also implies excellent knowledge of and tight controls of Finished Goods and Raw Material Inventory levels.


Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED and approximately 6 years experience or relevant Associates Degree and 3-4 years experience.  Plant experience. 

Key Areas of Responsibility
Review new orders from Planning.  Prepare planning schedules based on MRP.  Coordinates scheduling with other areas as necessary.  Monitor the schedule and make any updates as needed.  Class A process owner for Master Scheduler Processes.  Attend daily production meetings. Manages Raw Material and Finished Goods Inventory quantities to achieve optimum balance between Demand satisfaction and lowest DOH. Supervises Planner/Buyer positions and ensures compliance to sourcing and procurement strategies and policies.  Responsible for proper segregation of duties and overall coordination between the positions.  Make suggestions in areas such as process improvement and increased visibility, as well as other areas. 

Support other areas of the business: SLM, production, customer service, and others as needed. 

Scope
Oracle training needed.  Basic computer skills needed.  Knowledge of basic production process, manufacturing background/experience necessary.  Excellent oral and written communication skills required.  Strong leadership skills.  Ability to multi-task and strong organization skills.  Interpersonal skills including strong presentation skills to interface with suppliers.
