Rolltender

1) assists the press operator as directed in the make-ready, operation and adjustment of printing units, folder, and roll mechanism.
2) inspects the press and folder units for proper lubrication and notifies the press operator when parts are not functioning properly.
3) assists the press operator by making ready and operating the mechanical reels by keeping reels properly adjusted.
4) reports any malfunctions of reels to the press operator.
5) maintains a complete record of rolls going to press and notifies press operator of defective paper.
6) keeps accurate records of white waste.
7) checks layout for correct kind of paper to be used for the job.
8) cooperates with crew members in gumming plates, washing blankets, and washing up plates.
9) practices paper conservation..
10) assists the press operator in maintaining high quality.
11) maintains good housekeeping in work area.
12) observes all safety policies.
13) understanding of roll allocation and roll stock systems.

Qualifications
1) must have a high school diploma or equivalent
2) must be able to stand or walk for 8 hours a day.
3) need strong verbal and written communication.
4) need strong reasoning skills.
5) need strong math skills.
6) should have former press experience as a PTA.
7) must be able to work rotating shifts.
8) need strong mechanical skills.
9) must be able to frequently lift 35 - 45 pounds and occasionally lift 80 - 100 pounds.
10) must able to relieve Assistant Press Operator for sick days, vacation, etc.
11) are responsible for crew and personal safety.
12) need strong reasoning skills.
13) must be able to assist in performing maintenance items on the press.
14) must work overtime when scheduled, unless other arrangements can be made.
15) must have acceptable work attendance
