SENIOR PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN

The Senior Production Technician scales up intricate reagent production processes, as well as recommending and implementing process improvements. The incumbent performs a variety of laboratory duties; conducts tests following experimental protocols and analyzes results; batches records; and may lead and/or participate on CPI teams.

Bachelor's, Master's degree or Ph.D. in a life science, preferably Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or Chemical Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience in a diagnostic manufacturing environment. Experience in the development or manufacturing of clinical diagnostic assays preferred.

Must have excellent trouble-shooting abilities particularly with regards to antigen/antibody interactions, protein purification, antisera production, enzymatic and colorimetric assays. Must have strong problem solving skills, excellent laboratory skills, and a good aptitude for instrumentation.

Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong understanding of Quality Systems Regulations and ensure compliance throughout the product life cycle.

Strong understanding of experimental design, root cause analysis, and statistical analysis as well as biochemistry, clinical chemistry, and immunology; organic chemistry, physical chemistry and chemical engineering desirable.

Must be able to establish an excellent working relationship with both internal and external customers. Must be self motivated with excellent leadership, time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.

Must have a strong understanding of regulatory requirments for Design Control, Design Transfer and Process Validation and be able to ensure that all activities related to these processes are followed and properly documented.
