This is an excellent opportunity in the Human Resources Department at Millsboro, DE for a Safety Coordinator to assist the Safety Manager in planning, implementing, and coordinating programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries. If selected for this position, you will:
Support the Safety Manager with programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries for our 1500+ Associates in our Processing Plant, Hatchery, Feedmill and Live Operations
Help the Safety Manager compile, analyze, interpret and report statistical data related to safety & health issues
Participate in the Process Safety Management Team
Ensure regulatory compliance with all federal, state and local laws including OSHA & EPA
Assist Safety Training initiatives
Provide assistance for the Safety Manager during regular plant safety audits
Outlines and implements training programs about employee safety procedures and accident protection and prevention. Responsibilities also include developing and distributing educational materials, inspecting company facilities, and recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.
Qualifications:
Previous background in Safety related work as well as a minimum of 2-5 years experience in plant safety is required.
Poulty, meat or food industry background is preferred. Excellent verbal and written platform skills, as well as PC proficiency are a must.
Bilingual (Spanish) would be a plus.
