Sales Engineer / Outside Sales Rep

Stanley Assembly Technologies, a division of The Stanley Works, is one of the most trusted and recognized names in the precision threaded fastening & intelligent lift assist device industries.  We are currently searching for a Sales Engineer / Outside Sales Rep.

 

Position Summary:

Use mechanical aptitude and engineering acumen in a consultative selling style to apply Stanley Assembly Technologies? (SAT) products and services to a customer?s unique assembly solutions from simple handheld applications to semi-automated machinery with unique fastening strategies as well as the intelligent-assist lift system product line.

 

Position Responsibilities:

?  Use mechanical aptitude and engineering acumen to establish partnership with end-users to influence them to purchase SAT products and services.

?  Identify customer needs ensuring SAT?s products and services meet and exceed customer performance expectations.

?  Identify end-user purchasing preference and if through distribution cultivate relationship so that distribution network can develop business and act as an extension of SAT?s Sales & Service teams. 

?  Train distributor personnel on SAT?s product and service capabilities.

?  Act as a voice of the customer to Product Line Management and Design Engineering assisting in the process of documenting, qualifying and consolidating customer CTQs on new products and updates to existing products.

?  Understand competitor performance/feature capabilities and how to cross-sell SAT?s products and services.

 

Essential Skills & Experience:

?  BS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience

?  Excellent communication skills and customer centricity competency

?  Demonstrated ability to develop win-win partnerships with end-users and customers

?  3 plus years relevant work experience (Assembly Manufacturing)

?  Basic Mechanical (Gearing) and Electrical (Motors, Electrical Components) Knowledge

?  Ability to troubleshoot and repair Mechanical and Electrical Components

?  Working Knowledge of MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint

 

Nonessential Skills & Experience:

?  PLC Programming

?  Prior experience with rail suspended material handling products

?  Prior experience managing multi-channel sales territories

 

Reporting to this Position:

?  This position doesn?t have any direct reports

 

Travel Requirements:

?  Frequent travel is required in assigned territory
