Job Description: Senior Manager - Process Development

JOB PURPOSE
Candidates applying for this position must have a proven track record in managing a technical group responsible for design/develop & procurement of capable process equipment. This position will lead a team of Sr. Engineers, Engineers, Technicians & others.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare for launch of new products as they are developed by R&D and lead team to successful launch into commercialization.
Drives new product and processing technologies that are designed for manufacturability.
Lead team in the design, development and implementation of capable processes using Six Sigma tools
Drive the use of PD & Born Lean tools, Project management tools, and process validation procedures across the group.
Provides significant guidance and approval regarding technical strategies and approaches.
Ensures that DCM and Process confirmation requirements are completed and correct.
Provides guidance and training to staff, assists subordinates in attaining career goals, motivates individuals to achieve results, and recruits and maintains a high quality staff.
Develops and monitors group budgets.
Recommends appropriate staff levels, schedules and resources.
Determines project staff assignments and schedules work to meet completion dates and Operations deliverables.
Establishes cross-functional team relationships with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical and Marketing.
Provides an overview of the function and role of his/her group, technical skill sets, to other groups and/or divisions.
Works cross-functionally in identifying and resolving technical issues.
Ensures all work fully meets Regulatory, Quality, and Business requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
Typical minimum education & years experience: 9 years technical professional years experience, 5+ years people management experience, and a BS degree in applicable field (MS preferred) Medical Device or Pharmaceutical experience w/broad technology appreciation in new process development a plus.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, negotiation and team-building skills.

Thorough knowledge of Process and Technology Development principles & systems integration.

Demonstrated business experience through knowledge, leadership skills, & process development capabilities.
