Senior Materials Engineer

Job Description: Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Materials Engineer.  The ideal candidate will execute a variety of projects for improving products and processes while developing new products.  The primary focus of this position is on technologies related to the manufacturing, processing, and analysis of powders and structural fibers.

 

Responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to, the following
Development of new or substitute raw materials
Create specifications for raw materials
Establish new suppliers for raw materials
Reduce materials cost
Provide expertise for testing raw materials along with the structure of the final project
Utilize understanding of particle packing characteristics to improve existing products or create new products

 

Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience in engineering (Years of experience may be substituted with an advanced degree above the level of a Bachelors)
Significant background and understanding in powder processing
Knowledgeable of statistical methods for experimental design

 

Education:

Bachelors in Materials Science or Materials Engineering (Bachelors in a similar, Engineering background may also apply)

 

Preferred Experience:
Possessing the following would be a plus in considering you for this position
Practical experience in ceramics, which includes
Mixing
Extrusion
Drying
Calcining
Background with a drying process for solid materials

 

Rate of Pay:

$60,000 to $80,000 Annually

1st Shift

Location:

Commutable within the region of Raleigh / Durham, North Carolina
