Senior Materials Manager with Lean skills /purchasing / scheduling experiences

We are a leading manufacturer of electrical and electronic switches and systems. Training and experience in lean manufacturing principals preferred.



We are looking for self-managed individuals. Will be required to manage multiple priorities, provide leadership and work with global engineering and manufacturing resources.



This Key Materials Manager Position is Responsible for:

? Materials management function relating to the planning, procurement, controlling, logistics, and distribution of materials and products to meet company objectives and customer requirement

? Implementing Lean / Six Sigma projects for optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time delivery to meet customer requirements while meeting objectives for inventory turns, minimizing carrying costs, and minimizing premium transportation charges

? Overseeing and ensuring proper production control planning and scheduling

? Communicating effectively and continuously, aligning employees with organizational goals; develops employees through guidance and training

? Establishing and meeting objectives for key performance indicators

? Performing daily review of resources versus customer requirements (internal and external); Notifying customer of significant resource limitations in meeting the requirements.

? Developing methodologies and system solutions designed to prevent materials shortages

? Conducting special studies, investigations and analyses relating to the introduction of new products or processes to effect cost reduction and yield improvements

? Working with site Materials organization to improve material planning models to ensure proper material planning and optimal inventory positions

? Interfacing with purchasing to expedite problem parts and to reschedule material deliveries that will result in excess inventory.

? Notifying Materials and Operations of material situations that affect the attainment of the production plan and establish corrective actions to prevent such situations from recurring

? Developing, administering, and is accountable for operating within constraints of approved operating budget

? Functioning in a matrix organization that is focused on continuous improvement to meet division and corporate goals

Minimum Requirements:

? The Materials Manager role requires advanced, in-depth knowledge of production planning and inventory control/planning. Candidates must be a self-starter and have demonstrated success with implementing lean logistics/materials methods along with problem-solving skills to troubleshoot materials challenges, quality, delivery, and employee performance issues.



? Extensive experience with state-of-the-art logistics methods, lean methods, and/or six sigma

? Extensive knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets and databases

? Bilingual - fluent in Spanish and English
