Shift Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Manages the shift with respect to staffing, retention, performance, safety, quality and key productivity indicators. Hours are 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM Sunday through Thursday.

Meet production requirements by maintaining effective staffing levels through selection and training to provide the appropriate skilled cross-functional employee base. Ensure required trainings are completed successfully and development of sufficient back-up operators and team leaders to ensure continuous operation.

Assist Production Manager with management of Sanitation/GMP/Food Safety/Safety Program throughout the plant to meet internal and external audit scores by participating in in-house inspections, enforcing compliance with all policies, rules, regulations and procedures in GMP, HACCP, Sanitation, Quality, Safety and Production and ensuring action items are completed on in-house inspection reports.

Oversees the scheduling process, including overtime, vacation, modified duty and training.

Interacts daily with distribution, quality, sanitation, maintenance, human resources and Production Manager to ensure needs of shift are met in a timely manner. Recommends revisions/adjustment in production schedule to Production Manager.

Coach and provide team leads with resources to train and assist team members on skill development for production, safety and quality. Consult on all performance issues, including performance appraisals, training and corrective actions.

Supervises 5 direct reports with a total of 62 employees on a shift.

Responsible for consistency and support of vertical team assigned.

Responsible for efficient conversion of one-third of the $33MM plant variable budget

Job Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Three years previous supervisory experience with increasing responsibility in a food manufacturing or consumer product industry. Additional training, degree and/or related experience desired.

Previous packaging/operator experience and physical ability to work in the production environment.

Computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications

Strong oral and written communication skills with all levels of the plant, organization, outside vendors and customers

Must be able to accommodate work hours of 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM Sunday through Thursday.
