Shipping Supervisor

Responsibilities include:Responsible for overseeing all aspects of shipping. Review of manufacturing schedule in order to successfully organize departmental priorities. Schedule resources to ensure adequate staffing. Maintain accurate shipping information, and make sure all Packing slips have signatures and turned in to Accounting Department.Develop and maintain departmental procedures and work instructions. Resolve shipping issues as required with the appropriate personnel. Work closely with all other departments. Training of employees. Self-motivated team player who works well independentlyStrong analytical, organization, multi-tasking and process improvement skills.Select and coordinate the scheduling of outbound carriers as required and manage in house truck driver. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including overtime and stay late during month end and quarter end.  Oversee the reorder of shipping supplies as needed to ensure adequate supply.

 

Required Skills/Experience:Minimum 3 years Shipping Supervisory experience in a hands-on, fast- paced work environment.Education ? Associates Degree prefer or equivalent.Experience using a computerized shipping database.Experience with FedEx and UPS automated shipping systems.Proficiency with MS Office applications that should include Excel, Word, Outlook.Good interpersonal skills -- able to interact effectively with all level of the organization.Must be proactive and anticipate the necessary steps to take to resolve issues before they negatively impact operations.Must possess excellent organizational skills.Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.Attention to detail is essential.Able to drive forklift is a plus.Ability to lift 50 pounds.A clean DMV driving record is required for this position.
