Position Title:  Maintenance Mechanic Division:  Vitex Packaging, Inc ? Suffolk, VA

 

General Statement of Duties: Responsible for preventive and reactive maintenance to all equipment in the production facility and building

 

Supervised by: Maintenance supervisor

 

Supervises the following: none

 

Example of Duties:

  Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

? Maintain current production equipment, working with operations and engineering

  Mechanical/Electrical/Pneumatic troubleshooting

    ? Welding/Burning/fabricating

? Rotary die maintenance

?  Equipment pm?s

?  Routine forklift maintenance

?  Routine grounds maintenance

?  Participation in continuous improvement programs.

 

Job Requirements:

?  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

? Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and overtime as required

?  Requires basic mechanical skills

?Requires basic knowledge of 3 phase electrical

?Excellent communication skills with production personnel. 

?  Ability to read micrometers and calipers

?  Ability to perform numerical calculations

?  HVAC experience (Special skills level)

 

 

Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent.  Bachelor?s Degree is a plus.

 

Experience:  Must have 1-2 years experience working in the capacity as a mechanic.  Special Trades 10+ years experience. 

 

Working Conditions: 

No traveling involved.  Established production plant with ink presses, normal lighting and limited climate control.  Bending, lifting object up to 50lbs and standing for long periods of time are required.
