DESCRIPTION:

The Armor Manufacturing Engineer position will be responsible for the following, as well as other duties, which may be assigned

??? Support Armor Marketing group and Company Business Plan with support of Vehicle and Body Armor programs.?? Manages the build of prototype and pre-production components for these programs.

??? Work as liaison between Armor Development and flat armor production on transfer of new technologies to production.

??? Support efforts of Wixom CVAS group on prototypes and manufacturing process developments.

??? Support assigned projects with manufacturing engineering including tooling and fixture design.

??? Writes proposals, ballistic test plans, DOE, customer communication with emphasis on understanding specifications, customer requirements, and reduces these to PFMEA and control plans.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

??? M.S. degree in engineering discipline or B.S. and equivalent experience. Mechanical Engineering or Material Science degree preferred.

??? Minimum 8 years experience with manufacturing engineering and/or project management in a manufacturing environment.

??? Experience with automotive systems and engineering practices a plus.

??? Excellent communication and PC/CAD-CAM a plus
