Sr. Design Engineer

For nearly 50 years, our client has been a pioneering manufacturer of quality components for rotating machinery.  They provide tailored design solutions for the control and monitoring of process packages, engines, compressor and pumps for oil & gas, rail, marine, and power generation companies.  Currently they have manufacturing and sales offices strategically operating throughout the world. 

 

We have been retained to recruit a Sr. Design Engineer.  This highly visible position will be located in Houston, TX.

 

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform design, product development and/or technical analysis of senior-level scope and complexity, either independently or as part of a project team.  Additional responsibilities to varying degrees:

? Lead design reviews, and cross functional design teams providing input into the design of valves, other controls products or product documentation.

? Participate in the construction of product prototypes in addition to testing and evaluation.

? Evaluate the engineering integrity of components and may be required to evaluate suitability of potential suppliers.

? Perform product support activities relative to the manufacturing and factory processing of products in addition to product application support.

? Support Sales and Marketing efforts to develop new products in support of Business Development objectives.

 

Ideal Candidate:

? Undergraduate degree; Mechanical Engineering.

? At least 10 years design experience in durable/heavy industrial goods design and manufacturing; designing control products including valves, pumps or actuators and experience with ship/engine service further qualifies.

? Skilled user of both 2D and 3D CAD systems.

? Previous experience with manufacturing and shop processes, specs of materials including both ferrous and non-ferrous metals and engineering design practice.

? Stellar communication skills; written, oral and presentation ready to reach a wide range of internal and external constituents.

? High degree of emotional intelligence, flexibility, optimism and self-motivation. 

? Willing to travel both internationally and domestically.
