Job Summary: Plan, coordinate, and implement the most production efficient and cost effective procedures to produce a machine for production equipment runs.
MAJOR TASKS: In accordance with the goals, policies, and procedures of Terex
Roadbuilding, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible and accountable for the
following essential functions, and other duties as directed that correspond to the overall
function of this position.
? Plan, coordinate, and implement the most production efficient and cost effective procedures to produce a machine for production equipment runs.
? Preview engineering drawings for release. Determine the most efficient methods to achieve desired results. Advise Design Engineering Department in all areas of manufacturing. Develop manufacturing routing sheets i.e. determine methods of fabrication, sequence of operations, load centers, and time standards. Sequence and restructure engineering parts lists to allow for continuous flow of parts. Gather data to justify AFE?s of capital equipment. Constantly monitor and improve production procedures.
? Provide management with accurate estimated cost on new engineering designs for prototype equipment and contract manufacturing projects.
? Obtain quotes from outside vendors, coordinate production schedules, collect information for reports, negotiate process with outside vendors, schedule transportation, provide quality assurance assistance, evaluate cost control, and monitor manufacturing engineering liaison responsibilities. Provide technical guidance and support for shop supervisors and personnel in all areas of manufacturing.
? Maintain designated work areas in a safe, clean, and professional manner. Detect and report improperly operating equipment. Assist new employees of the corporation with orientation to their position, learning key support systems, policies, procedures, and personnel.
? Comply with corporate/departmental policies and procedures governing safety, attendance, tardiness, dress code, professional ethics, and required meetings/seminars.
EDUCATION: Must have a broad knowledge of a general technical field equivalent to a college or university degree (i.e. Manufacturing Engineering.) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Between 3 years and 5 years prior related experience in heavy equipment manufacturing or 7+ years related experience may offset baccalaureate degree with relevant associate degree in an engineering domain.

MENTAL AND VISUAL DEMAND: Requires a high degree of concentrated detailed mental and visual attention; requires unusual coordination of mind, hand, and eye. Manual coordination requiring lifting, moving, pulling, pushing, carrying, etc., between 6-25 #, 1-15% of the time.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Good working conditions; occasional exposure to some elements that make it less desirable than office conditions but not disagreeable. Must be knowledgeable of and adhere to safety policies and procedures to prevent injury, disability, and/or death. Never or rarely requires travel to different work site.
TRAVEL: Must be eligible to travel to, from and within the U.S., will required some overnight and extended travel to attend meetings, conferences and/or other company business, 10 % overnight travel
