Job Description:
As a member of the Fulfillment Center (FC) senior management team, the Senior Operations Manager may lead a disciplined team of several hundred employees to world-class results in safety, quality, and efficiency.  This person is a key member of the FC leadership team who, teaming with the GM, and other Sr. Ops managers to help set direction, high standards and goals for the FC and helps ensure that these standards and goals are achieved.  Qualified candidates will be results-oriented, high-energy, and dynamic with both the stamina and mental agility to work and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth FC, with the ability to develop plan of action and execute that plan. Excellent communication skills with all levels of management and staff are imperative. Candidates must have the ability to lead, coach, and mentor management at different levels within the FC. 


Responsibilities: Promote a safe and defect free work environment, ensuring that safety is the top priority in the facility at all times.Oversees operations to attain maximum production efficiency; Oversees receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing and shipping functions operating at levels which meet customer needs and established financial benchmarks; Recommends, develops, and implements policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation; Oversees activities to insure receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing and shipping is on schedule and product is within quality standards and cost objectives; Ensures the FC adheres to company policy and administers practices fairly and equitably; Oversees initiatives pertaining to labor and staff planning, productivity tracking and planning (individual, department, and FC), capacity planning, and scheduling. Lead effort to match FC capability and plans to annual plan and weekly S&OP plan. Manages budget and effectively controls expenses;

 Develops and appraises staff effectively.  Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy; consults with Human Resources as appropriate;Insures standards for product quality, equipment and operator performances are maintained;Keeps up-to-date on information and technology affecting distribution to increase innovation and ensure continual improvement throughout the FCProactively interface with operations and technology staff at HQ and in the FC to develop needs, requirements, and plans for the development and implementation of complete, operationally-ready technology solutions to FC challenges.  Recommends policies and programs, which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.Effectively form and lead initiatives to further FC management and “4x4x4” objectives, involving OE team members (Black Belts) and other senior staff members (Industrial Engineer, Facilities Manager, Controller).



Qualifications: A BA/BS (Technical Background preferably), MBA, or equivalent work experience is preferred.  Five to ten years of management experience in a production/manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred. A successful candidate must possess a solid operations backgroundAbility to multi-task and prioritize effectively Have highly developed analytical skills Articulate; well thought out Strong mix of intellect and street smarts
