Sr. Precision Inspector

Description:
Eaton Corporation located in Los Angeles, CA has an opening for a Sr. Precision Inspector (External Title) Sr. Inspector (Internal Title). Reports to the Supervisor of Receiving Inspection or designated authority. Responsible for performing dimensional inspections on hydraulic, pneumatic, electric and mechanical component parts, assemblies and sub assemblies as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

. Perform dimensional inspection on complex machined components and tooling.

. Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines during the performance of inspections (or have a strong working knowledge of CMM capability).

. Work from surface plates using complex inspection layout equipment.

. Perform both in-process and final first article inspections.

. Be responsible for review and acceptance of paperwork and documentation used in the acceptance of product.

. Initiate discrepancy reports when product is found nonconforming.

. Conduct internal audits relating to SPC and Self Release Programs.

. Help in supporting gage crib activities on an as needed basis.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of five years experience in First Article Inspection of highly complex, close tolerance aerospace products.

Must possess a strong background in surface plate layout and use of inspection equipments associated with product inspection.

Must possess a good understanding of Military Specifications associated with the acceptance of materials or processing.

Must be self-started and motivated.

Must be capable of working with little to no supervision.

Must read and write English.


EDUCATION:

High school diploma required.

College or ASQC Inspection Certification a plus.
