Sr. Traffic Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY: ?Responsible for all aspects of logging, routing, shipping, and tracking of outbound orders. Work with Floor Operations, Customer?s Traffic Departments, and carriers to coordinate Syratech?s outbound shipments while following customer routing requirements and protecting the company against claims.? Assist in the paperwork flow of orders from warehouse floor, making sure cartons have their correct count and weight and are in their correct carriers, closing trailers, preparing BOL?s, making sure all priority orders are processes in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

??? Receive orders from warehouse floor and check them in Scan Data System to make sure our carton count and weights match what the warehouse floor has on their paperwork, print a pre- BOL for Traffic, turn in orders for routing, transfer into correct carrier and close create BOL and give orders to traffic.

??? Work closely with customer service for extensions and resolution of problem orders.

??? Log, route and ship orders

??? International shipment - oceans & air.

??? Work on rates for domestic & international shipments.

??? Route priority orders & call in priority trucks.

??? Tracking of shipments. Find ETA?s on shipments.

??? C.O.D?s & P.O.D.?s.

??? Coordinate RPS & UPS trailers.

??? Knowledge of UPS and RPS ground and multiweight rate charts/ zone charts.

??? Ability to use computer applications such as Access, MS Word, Excel, and 10 key data entry.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

??? Troubleshooting problem orders, creating new carriers in Scan Data System, aborting labels for the packers, break down bulk orders for multiple truck loads, every evening make sure the EPDI for RPS and the PLD for UPS are sent, creating trailer lists and BOL information in Microsoft word and Excel.

??? Follow customer routing guides in the preparation of paperwork and coordination of shipments to ensure compliance is met.

??? Instruct shipping on carrier load and shipping of sales orders with carriers

??? Extensive customer service and traffic department communications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

??? Knowledge of warehousing and shipping.

??? Candidate must be fluent in the English language (read, write and speak)

??? Good verbal and written communication skills for working with Traffic Depts. and Customer Service Reps.

??? Work well under pressure and be well organized.

??? The ability to work well with others.EDUCATION:

??? High School Diploma or Equivalent?REQUIREMENTS:?3+ years of Traffic experience; must have hands-on experience with computers and familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Access, Internet Explorer, and Excel). Candidate must have initiative as well as good attendance and be able to work over time/ work shifts as required to support outbound shipments.
