SUPERVISOR, OPTO-MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for supervising and coordinating the department to meet production and testing quality standards before releasing for shipment. Manage a team of 10-15 opto-mechanical assemblers.  Plan, organize, train, coach, and monitor the Opto-Mechanical assembly area to ensure quality and safety standards as well as production goals are met. Answers routine questions and provides technical guidance to team members.  Exhibits a company-oriented attitude conducive to creating high morale within the team.

 

Requirements:

? Bachelors degree or combination of education and experience.

? Minimum 6 years experience including a combination of production management and opto-mechanical assembly & alignment/test

? Knowledgeable of quality theories and applications in a production environment

? Knowledge of MRPII system

? Ability to understand and interpret customer drawings and BOM.

? Ability to plan and direct production activities including establishing production priorities and personnel assignments.

? Ability to work with buyer/planners to assure schedule satisfies demand and on-time delivery, and engineering and manufacturing engineering on root cause of failures and resolution as well as process improvements.

? Ability to perform first article and prototype assembly builds and test as needed.

? Ability to develop highly motivated work teams instilling a sense of pride and ownership in the overall performance of the department. Play a key role in the development and training of assigned personnel in the areas of production processes, safety, and other training as required. Conducts an audit of team member?s work to ensure they meet workmanship standards.
