Job Summary:

 

Supervises production operations according to established priorities and schedules. Manages production staff to attain production and quality goals. Identifies problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves issues. Ensures production resources including materials, equipment and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules. 1 - 2 years manufacturing experience and 2 years supervisory experience.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

 Supervises all activities that support the unloading, storage, curing, sizing, grading, processing and preparation of all raw material that is delivered to the Hanford Seed Facility.
? Responsible for producing training materials and training of line supervisors and seasonal personnel to ensure safe and efficient running of production lines.
? Assists in employee development, training, disciplinary actions and evaluations to enable maximum productivity within the Seed Facility operations.
? Maintains ongoing communication with Seed Facility Manager regarding storage, curing, sizing, and processing of garlic seed for shipment.
? Supervises the bin inventory and repair process.
? Participates in the process to negotiate contract labor agreements to support the Hanford Facility.
? Supervises and implements the safety program for the Hanford Seed Facility.
? Supervises the maintenance activities to support the Hanford Seed Facility as well as the buildings and grounds at the Hanford location.
? Responsible for scheduling of line supervisors and contract labor.
? Responsible for reporting seasonal employees? hours worked and tracking overtime hours.
? Assists in the planning and controlling of the Hanford Seed Facility budget.

 

Position Qualifications:

 

? Bachelor?s degree
? Ag Business, crop science, food science, production/manufacturing management
? 1-3 years seed production experience; plant operations/maintenance experience preferred
? Ability to apply Seed Facility business practices when making decisions on a daily basis
? Ability to write reports and correspondence
? Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
? CPR and First Aid certifications preferred
? PC skills
