Supplier Quality Manager - (08-06-01)

KEY JOB ELEMENTS:

? Develop strategies for Supplier quality/supplier development issues
? Oversee the implementation of supplier quality/supplier development initiatives and programs
? Develop certification plans for suppliers and develop and supplier scorecard to track supplier performance
? Assist/develop suppliers in the areas of root cause analysis, problem solving, process control.
? Work with suppliers in a low volume, high dollar value environment. Operate with complex technologies and assemblies.
? Develop a supplier audit program. Hold supplier reviews. Create and conduct annual supplier meetings.
? Responsible for development of department business strategies and stablishment of cost/quality objectives consistent with overall unit mission
? Participate in the selection of new employees and new suppliers
? Provide training and career development for employees
? Coordinate overall activities with other departments, divisions and suppliers.
? Align Supplier Quality activities with Supply Chain organization and strategies.
? Assign and prioritize work assignments
? Monitor progress and provide feedback to employees and suppliers
? Prepare and deliver supplier quality/supplier development presentations
? Improve current technical and managerial skills

QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Qualifications Include:

REQUIRED: College degree with a major in engineering or equivalent. Some training and/or experience in statistics, SPC, Six Sigma, and Lean

PREFERRED: Formal course work and experience would include probability, statistics, TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, and Supply Chain Management. MBA desired.

Additional Candidate Qualifications Include:

REQUIRED:
? Experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer.
? Experience developing and implementing a robust Supplier Quality system.
? Proficiency as a Supervisor, preferably in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Quality, Engineering or equivalent.
? Create inspection plans for suppliers and in-house inspectors.
? Experience in successfully managing people, project and programs.
? Experience working in a multi-site, global manufacturing and engineering environment, with operations on 3 shifts (24x7).
? Experience in dealing with suppliers in a low volume environment.
? Advanced knowledge of corporate and division supplier quality/supplier development standards, policies and procedures.
? Ability to manage a group of technically oriented engineers and support personnel.
? Very high level of analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative courses of action for definition and resolution where problems are highly unusual and/or complex.
? Working knowledge of inter-departmental or group relationships and program objectives.
? Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
? Very high level of interpersonal skills to handle difficult situations as well diffuse interpersonal conflicts effectively.
? Up to 50% travel to key supplier locations, mostly in North America, during peak periods.

PREFERRED:
? Proven track record of developing and implementing a world class supplier quality management system.
? Hands on experience as a Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean implementer.
? ASQ and/or APICS certified.
? Experience operating in an SAP environment.
