SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Supply Chain Associate to be located in Littleton, CO. This position is responsible for providing analytical support with respect to lane data and reporting information across multiple divisions. Maintain and grow existing collaborative logistics opportunities internally and externally. Assist in managing carrier selection and performance to meet cost and service expectations. Oversee the coordination of uninterrupted transportation services and materials flow to and from North American markets. Drive and monitor Carrier Optimization project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the use of the corporate Transportation Management System for carrier selection on outbound and inbound shipments from multiple plant locations across all business units.

Responsible for implementing the day-to-day Transportation plan in accordance with the direction provided by the Transportation Manager.

Maximize cost reduction and service opportunities through leveraging total corporate volume with truckload and less-than-truckload freight carriers.

Implement and maintain company policy and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with the USDOT requirements.

Monitor service level requirements and equipment commitments with motor carriers.

Monitor carrier service level performance and meet internal reporting requirements established by customer service centers within each business unit.

Report cost reduction opportunities to the Transportation Manager.

Determine optimal mode between truckload, LTL and intermodal based on delivery requirements.

Maintain good and ethical relationships with carrier/association contacts.

Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports as required by the Transportation Manager.

Study possible savings and service improvements through use of new and /or improved carrier equipment, methods and procedures such as transloading, pooling, or consolidation.

Implement quality control processes and procedures as required, i.e. ISO.

Review applicable carriers' tariffs and contracts as received for changes in rates, regulations and rules affecting Johns Manville and inform others affected thereby.

Preparation of data for the negotiation of carrier services, equipment, costs, contracts, classifications, and international regulatory requirements as requested by the Transportation Manager.

Perform other duties as may be assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

4-year degree, and a minimum of 5 years experience.

Computer Literate

Familiarization with motor carrier transportation, customer service, computer applications, etc.

Knowledge and experience in motor carrier transportation.

Good computer skills: Microsoft Access, Excel.

Ability to learn full functionality of TMS.

Good writing and verbal skills.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Excellent math and analytical skills.

Ability to function independently and as a team member.
