Systems Engineer - Optical Systems

Position in the organization: ASMLO has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer, Optics Modules in the Wilton, CT facility. This position reports to the Sr. Group Lead, Optical Systems, ASMLO


Job mission: In this position, you will work closely with the optical module design and manufacturing team to ensure affordable and producible optical solutions meeting end item schedule, performance, environmental, and cost requirements


Job description:
Interface with internal and external customers to define customer technical objectives and negotiate best solutions.
Provide technical leadership in the definition of deep UV and visible optical module concepts, optimization strategy, metrology, module integration, and performance verification.
Generate performance and design specifications and create error budgets based on internal and external customer requirements.
Balance the technical requirements between engineering disciplines and manufacturability to achieve performance and cost goals.
Engineering disciplines include but not limited to Optical Design, Opto-Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechatronics, Optical Coating, Metrology.
Support production in the resolution of critical technical roadblocks.
Lead multi-disciplinary teams in the resolution of complex optical performance problems.
Estimate effort and risk of development tasks, and provide subsequent task management.

Educational level A minimum level of a bachelor degree in one of the following discipines is necessary: Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent field. An advanced degree is a plus

Experience 5 to 7 years minimum engineering experience demonstrating the ability to manage system engineering tasks, particularly with optics and optical systems development. A broad knowledge of optical systems function, metrology, and manufacturing methods is required
