Technical Manager

marketing of specialty materials is seek a Technical Manager of Proactive and Preventative Maintenance for Primary Operations.

 

A Bachelor?s degree in a technical discipline is required.  A minimum of five years maintenance management/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required, preferably in primary steel making or a similar metal producing environment.  Previous experience in a union environment is a definite plus.  Experience with JD Edwards Maximo system a plus.  An understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and reliability centered maintenance and ISO concepts are vital to success in the position.

 

Personal computer proficiency as well as effective written and oral communication skills required.  The candidate must be able to summarize and present clear and concise reports

 

The individual we seek will direct, manage and coordinate all maintenance activities while having responsibility for safety, productivity and quality of all maintenance related activities, including contractor coordination and management.  In addition he/she willWork closely with operating managers and maintenance engineers to increase equipment reliability and efficiencies while increasing shop through put

 Manage asset maintenance budgets and projects, in conjunction with operational managers.

 Ensure contract and personnel issues are handled uniformly and in compliance with the local USWA contract

 Utilize contractors and vendors as extensions to existing maintenance team
