Position Summary

Provide intermediate leadership to the Design Group. Design complete, or revise tool DWGs. as reqd.

 

Essential Functions

?  Define, organize, and distribute tasks per management, planning, or shop floor requirements.

?  Establish and incorporate basic guidelines regarding design principles.

?  Apply engineering DWGs, 2 & 3D models, mylars, existing tool designs, or any other available media to complete the design of aircraft assembly jigs and fixtures according to provided media.

?  Apply cost conscious solutions within the design and may assist with tool / material estimating.

? Responsible for providing engineering support for tool manufacturing, other designers, assembly, and installation groups. 

Skills Required

?  Organization skills regarding design approach along with conceptual incorporation.

?  Proficient at using model based 3-D design platforms. ( Unigraphics NX or above is a must. ) 

?  Experience and knowledge of Military and commercial specifications governing the design and manufacture of aircraft tooling.

?  Experience with airframe assembly tooling and tool assembly processes to include CNC machining and Laser Tracker applications.

?  Experience with software used to gather information, and or processes. (Excel, Word. Etc..).

?  Oral and written communication skills a must.

 Education and or Experience Required

At least 20 years experience with airframe assembly tool design, and tool manufacturing methods.

Must possess good reading and writing skills.

 

Working Conditions:

?  Working environment will be in office areas as well as production hangars. 

?  Some overtime and weekend work may be required.
