Tool and Cutter Grinder

Cooper Power Systems, a division of Cooper Industries, has an immediate opening for at our South Milwaukee facility. 

 

WORKING PROCEDURES:



* Set-up and operate a variety of tool and cutter grinding machines.

* Identify tools (drills, taps, reamers, end mills, saw blades, etc.) needing grinding or replacement and make recommendations accordingly.

* Maintain close tolerances and proper angles for proper function of tools after reconditioning.

* Fashion and adapt tools for special applications.



Perform work from specifications, and/or communicated instructions.



Follow established working procedures.



Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.



Meet or exceed quality standards.



Keep work area clean and orderly.



Contribute suggestions for methods or product improvement.



 

SUMMARY OF SPECIFICATIONS:



1.) Ability to read and use drawings, routings, blue prints, specifications, and other shop documents affecting this position.

2.) Ability to use and operate tools and equipment consistent with this job.

3.) 1 - 2 years experience (or equivalent).

4.) Working knowledge of machining, metals, cutting tools and tool grinding equipment.



 

WORKING CONDITIONS:



Typical machine shop conditions. Possible exposure to coolants, oils, heat, noise, dirt, etc. Could be considered somewhat disagreeable.
