Tool and Die Technician

 

I. Scope Of Job:   Construct and repair machine shop tools, gages, fixtures, jigs and Injection Molds for use within the plant.

 

II. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of tasks which require a thorough knowledge of fabrication techniques, materials, tools and equipment, including:

 

1.  Lathe work ? turning, drilling, threading

2.  Tool Sharpening

3.  Mill work

4.  Surface grinding

5.  Welding

6.  Drilling

7.  Tapping/Threading

 

III. Supervisory Responsibilities:  None

 

IV.  Qualifications:

a. Minimum Requirements:  High school degree and 3 years relevant experience in a tool room environment.  Must be able to run all standard machine tools, and have prior experience making and/or maintaining Injection Molds.

 

b. Preferred Requirements:  High school degree and 5 years job experience in a tool room environment.  Must be skilled in all machine shop operations, and be able to run all standard machine tools.  Must be able to tool weld and stress weld.  Should have basic knowledge of heat treatment, and have prior experience making and/or maintaining Injection Molds.
