Toolmaker- New Tooling

Job Description
The toolmaker reports to the Supervisor of New Tooling, and is responsible for building and developing prototype/production stamping dies, gages, and fixtures in a timely and efficient manner. S/he adheres to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices. S/he needs to have good communication skills to interface freely with engineers, designers, machinists and press operators involved with the tooling and/or product. The toolmaker is responsible for tracking all detail components through the tool room, which means s/he must have good organizing and planning ability. This person will also receive prototype parts and ensure completeness of data, take special measurements that production can't, and ensure ease of data transfer for the customer. This individual must have excellent problem solving abilities in order to develop new parts for both production and prototype. This person must be self-motivated and willing to work overtime if necessary, to complete a project. They need to be flexible and help other tooling areas when the workload shifts. S/he will act as a mentor for our apprentices as they rotate through the departments.

Knows and understands TS-16949 Quality Policy and Procedures and contributes to the achievement of the quality objectives.

Technical: Project Management System, Tool Repair History System, Geometric dimensions and
tolerances, SPC & TS-16949 knowledge
Interpersonal: Communication, problem solving.
Organizational: Multi-tasking, time management.



Education & Experience
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Journeyman Toolmaker with Five Years Experience in a Metal Fabrication Environment.
