Value Stream Manager

Douglas Dynamics is the leading manufacturer of snow and ice control products for light truck applications.  The Value Stream Manager (VSM) is a newly created position for Douglas Dynamics which will be located at the Douglas Dynamics facility in Johnson City, Tennessee.  This position will report to the Vice President/General Manager

 

The VSM will be responsible and accountable for short, medium, and long-term strategy, capacity and capability planning of their value stream. Meeting the value stream?s quality, cost, delivery and safety performance goals daily, weekly, and monthly; continuously improving standard of operations and individual performance. In addition, the VSM will ensure product availability to meet customer demand while executing within a safe, high quality, low cost, team based, and high performance working environment that will ultimately ensure profitability, growth and a sustained competitive advantage for Douglas Dynamics. 

 

The ideal candidate will meet the following profile:

 Proven hands-on experience training, facilitating and implementing the Toyota Production System tools within a company that has or is going through a lean conversion process;

 Effective leadership, management and development of production supervision, production material control, manufacturing and innovation engineering personnel and shop floor associates;

 Ability to work productively with all departments as well as customers and suppliers to meet or exceed customer expectations;

 A minimum of an associate degree in related field.  Bachelor?s degree is highly desirable;

 Experience in standard product manufacturing involving fabrication, welding, and finishing would be a plus.
