WAREHOUSE MANAGER

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Warehouse Manager reports to the Vice President, Refinery Operations.
Responsible for inventory control and shipment of product from the refinery.
The Warehouse Manager oversees a shipping operation by trucks and rails.
Manages 100+ employees.
The Manager has a staff of supervisors to assist in the shipping operation and management of employees. This facility works a 24/7 shipping/warehousing operation.
Directs overall warehouse operations to store, retrieve and ship packaged food in a cost-effective manner.
The Manager will oversees ship discharging using Contract Stevedore Company personnel and resolve jurisdictional problems.
Negotiates longshore contract.
Monitors ways and means to improve the operations within the department and reduce cost through improved material handling practices.
Oversees operation of highly computerized automated storage/retrieval system with its related technical complexity.
Recommends training (outside) to improve supervisory abilities, then evaluates their performance.
Responsible for the hiring and firing of personnel.
Responsible to resolves matters to ensure smooth working relations with the IL WU.
The Manager will minimize any problems with other unions.
Direct supervisors to make equipment available for preventive routine maintenance on warehouse assets.
Maintains a good relationship with Distribution Services and contract stevedore company. 

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, logistics or distribution.
Experience with non-union and unionized workforce.
10 years' experience in operations, with at least 5 years in warehouse management.
Experience in inventory control, receiving, shipping and storage.
Must be a result-oriented driven professional with extensive knowledge in warehousing operations in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
