Eaton Corporation located in Milwaukee, WI has an opening for a Warranty Technician.


The primary function of this job is under general supervision apply technical knowledge to analyze warranty returns of standard and IT. control products to the function level. Document failure analysis findings in detail as requested. Identify and communicate issues and non-conformance trends in manufacturing or design to the respective responsible lead personnel.

More specifically, the essential functions of the job are:
A. Analyze product field returns to the level necessary to determine if product has failed and if the failure resulted from abuse or operation beyond the product's specified limits. Approve or deny warranty claim based on appropriate analysis.
B. Set up and safely operate low and high voltage and rotating test fixtures, as required, to test product returns under the failure conditions described by the customer.
C. Test product returns following written and verbal instructions.
D. Document in detail product test procedures.
E. Request corrective actions for manufacturing defects found with the appropriate manufacturing site.
F. Support Design Engineering in the analysis of design issues identified by the Product Integrity Center.
G. Report analysis results in detail using the appropriate format in the warranty claim system as well as in Failure Analysis Reports to the customer, as required.
H. Operate standard instrumentation including DVMs, Lab Power Supplies, Digital Counters, and PC based applications.

Qualifications:
.An Associate Degree in Electronic Technology or 2 year technical degree in related field.
.1 - 3 years experience in the troubleshooting and analysis of electromechanical motor control products to the function level.
.Functional skills in basic engineering mathematics sufficient to perform simple data analysis.
.Good communication to interface amicably with customers, marketing and sales personnel, engineers, and technicians.
.Must be organized and self motivated and able to complete tasks with little supervision.
.Familiar with basic computer usage and programs such as Outlook, Excel and Word.
.Able to use mechanical and electrical tools such as fixtures, calipers, torque wrenches, and multimeters.
.Demonstrated ability to understand basic prints, schematics, wiring diagrams and specifcations
.Analysis and problem solving skills to determine root cause and assist in obtaining corrective actions.
.Demonstrate the ability to accurately record pertinent data and write reports.
