Welding Group Leader

General Responsibilities:

 

Under the direction of the Factory Foreman, this position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day work flow through the welding stations and insuring the quality of welded components, in meeting required shipping schedules.  This in addition to the normal responsibilities of the manufacturing position held..

 

Specific Duties:

 

?  Supervises factory employees to achieve daily shipping per schedule.

?  Providing direction for factory employees in factory foreman?s absence.

?  Preparing daily shipping lists and reports to factory foreman.

?  Monitoring vertical and extended end truck inventories weekly, and initiating orders for  the saw department.

?  Opening the factory prior to the start of work, and locking up at the end of shift.

?  Ordering and maintaining an adequate inventory of welding supplies.

?  Conducting periodic spot checks for quality assurance on finished product.

?  Reads blueprints and engineering sketches to insure correct placements and measurements of assembly and welds.

?  Assisting with the training of employees in proper procedures and policies.

?  Performs related duties as required.

 

Basic Requirements:

 

?  Knowledge of all welding processes.

?  Communicates and works well with others.

?  Ability to train individuals on new procedures.

?  Uses basic hand tools requiring physical dexterity and mobility.

?  Wears protective hood, gloves, goggles, etc. as required.

?  Lifts and pushes heavy materials in excess of 50 pounds and handles large steel components.

?  Works throughout factory as needed to perform duties.
