Wood Products Production Manager

Growing manufacturer of architectural millworks, flooring & veneer pressing seeks experienced, motivated, and energetic individual to direct as well as coordinate production activities.  Manager must have prior wood products experience.  DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH WOOD IN A MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT!

 



Responsibilities:

 

Provides direction to the employees and leads the production department.

 

Recommends and implements plan to solve problems and improve efficiencies in production departments.

 

Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.

 

Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.

 

Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.

 

Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

 

Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.

 

Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

 

Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.

   

Advises upper management on product development issues.

 

Accountable for results in terms of costs, budgets, methods, quantity, quality of production, operations and personnel. 

 

Sets up standards of performance, measures progress, controls interdepartmental work flow, analyzes delays or serious problems and takes remedial action.

 

Provides and arranges for staffing levels, shift requirements, departmental operating schedules, equipment and machinery needs, etc. 

 

 

Requirements:



Minimum 7 years experience in a production management role in a manufacturing environment.

 

Must have experience in the wood products industry.

 

Must be self-motivated, driven, organized, able to take direction, able to meet and maintain deadlines, and possess a passion to succeed.
