Work Flow Coordinator

Miles Kimball Company, a subsidiary of Blyth, Inc, which includes the Miles Kimball, Exposures, Walter Drake, and Home Marketplace brands, currently has an exceptional opportunity for a Work Flow Coordinator in our Operations Facility in Oshkosh, WI.

The primary purpose of the Workflow Coordinator is to insure that the flow of work between functional areas is balanced and that operational efficiencies are maximized at all times. The Workflow Coordinator may make necessary adjustments to the deployment of staffing resources on a real time basis to minimize any disruption to the daily operational goals. The Workflow Coordinator will also process productivity and quality information to aid in team member coaching efforts and to insure that modeled assumptions regarding workflow are verified on a continuous basis. The Workflow Coordinator will also be involved in efforts to continuously improve efficiency and streamline processes. Research efforts using statistical modeling and standards of production will be ongoing to validate current process assumptions and inform continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements:

Major Position Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Use planning techniques and data based decision making as primary tools for the hourly optimization of staffing resources throughout Fulfillment.
Monitor hourly trends and fluctuations in order type and respond in a proactive manner to address potential disruptions to efficient operations.
Make real time adjustments to deployment of team members throughout Fulfillment to insure a consistent and efficient flow of work to all functional areas.
Communicate on a consistent basis with departmental team leaders and managers to insure all necessary parties are aware of any potential workflow disruptions.
Maintain open communication with team leaders to insure that decisions regarding workflow are based on a complete understanding of current and future activities within each functional department.
Track departmental statistics regarding productivity and quality and prepare reports for use in team development efforts.
Apply statistical principles to modeling efforts to assure comprehensive understanding of the variables of workflow dynamics.
Manage the continuous validation of assumptions regarding workflow dynamics to insure models accurately reflect current operational realities.
Manage the profiling of the picking line, insuring distribution of product velocity is managed to optimize workflow dynamics, safety and operational efficiencies.
Serve as key participant/recommend research efforts to continuously improve efficiency and streamline processes.
May lead a small team with a focus on key areas of impact to workflow and operational efficiency using leadership principles outline under the Fulfillment Team Leader job description.
Partner with team leaders to coordinate cross-training efforts, insuring a consistent and efficient rotation of cross-trained team members between functional areas.
Administer the availability of LWV to insure efficient operations.
Assist with special administrative tasks as time permits.
Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required education, skills, abilities, and experience:

Proficiency in the application of mathematics and statistical principles to staffing and workflow planning.
Prior experience in the management of workflow dynamics.
Creative thinking and problem solving skills.
Candidate must possess, or be working towards an Associates Degree in a related field.
A Bachelors degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel and Access.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Understading of group dynamics and team centered leadership.
Competency in coaching, development and performance assessment.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate the development of a successful team and to contribute in a team oriented environment.
