Associate Systems Engineer: Navy Ship Programs experience
DUTIES : Provide program management and technical support to Navy PEO Ships Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate support.? Perform program support functions, advise and consult with Surface Navy's S&T Directorate on new technologies for the Fleet. ?Assist in execution of PEO-focused strategic goals and objectives, manage personal workload and complete tasks in a timely manner to ensure mission success. ?Establish and maintain effective internal and external partnerships and communications as required for effective mission execution (e.g., OSD, DARPA, Systems Commands, Combatant Commanders, ONR/NRL, Academia, National Labs, Federally Funded Research Centers, University Affiliated Research Centers, Industry Primes, Small Businesses, OPNAV, SECNAV, Fleet, Warfare Centers, other Federal Agencies, and other Services).? Provides input to the PEO on investments in the following S&T areas: Ship Survivability, Ship Signatures, Advanced Materials, Advanced Hull Forms, Propulsion, Integrated Power System, Fuel Cells, Sea Basing, Integrated Topside, Mission Module Integration, Unmanned Vehicle Integration and Advanced Modeling & Simulation.? Provides interpretations of policy and procedures, as required by the PEO and affected organizations.? Knowledge of state-of-the-art marine technologies and ability to understand and apply new developments within various disciplines.? Ability to present information to senior executives, expert engineers, and other specialists in such a manner as to reach consensus.? The position requires the ability to function effectively in professionally oriented environments ranging from field situations to high Command-level in Headquarters, Fleet & OPNAV using tact, discretion and persuasiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS: 2 years experience in Navy Ship Programs.? College Graduate.? Technology oriented individual.?

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:??Moderate travel required to ships and craft (including underway periods), industrial activities and other Naval activities are required.?

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Candidate must be experienced with MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook); have the ability to respond rapidly in a dynamic environment for a demanding Customer; excellent writing and proofing skills; and ability to create first draft documents.?
