DMLSS Specialist

GENERAL SUMMARY: Coordinates the development and delivery of complex training and educational programs for customer personnel; works under limited supervision; performs additional duties as assigned. PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: -Provide email and Navy DMLSS Functional Help Desk support to resolve Navy functional issues related to all DMLSS applications; -Analyze possible trends in calls and emails from commands and activities to identify problem areas and to initiate modifications to training approaches and customers recommendations to software enhancements. -Recommend future improvements to the application by submitting SCRs and SIRs; -Provide on-site sustainment training for the DMLSS application to requesting Claimancy 18 commands and activities; -Provide DMLSS training at NMIMC and at worldwide regional training sites; -Coordinate future training requirements with NMETC, e.g. Distance Learning, Computer Base Training, Video Teleconference, Training at Fiscal and Material Management School and establish requirement for additional training that NMETC can incorporate and offer as annual training course; -Assist the DMLSS PMO in providing HHT support through RF LAN capabilities, expanded to cover property and medical maintenance to Claimancy 18 command and activities; -Prepare role-based training documents and classroom schedules; -Build and tailor database training scenarios on DMLSS server at NMIMC; -Work with POCs to ensure all activities have been fully coordinated for onsite implementation and training. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Typically requires 8-10 years of directly related training experience; Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience. Employee should have a minimum of three years experience of DMLSS systems knowledge in the following areas: Material Management, Inventory Management, Customer Area Inventory Management, Equipment and Technology Management, Customer Support, Service Contracts, Systems Services and Systems Administration as well as interfaces to JMAR and ECAT. Must have functional training experience on the DMLSS application. Strong communication skills are a must (verbal, written and teaching ability). Must be able to work independently without direction, and be proficient in statistical analysis, business process mapping and other essential duties mentioned above. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the development and delivery of training programs; 2. Advanced knowledge of relevant software and computer equipment as required; 3. Demonstrated effective presentation and communication skills; 4. Ability to evaluate effectiveness of training programs; 5. Ability to serve as technical team or task lead. 6. WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is typically performed in an office environment and at client site locations, which requires proper safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.
