Hardware Technician - 5352

A TS/SCI security clearance is required for consideration.? The schedule for this position is shift work.? The selected candidate will perform a variety of assignments involving assembly, disassembly, and repair of computer, networking, and communication equipment. Responsibilities will include diagnosing and repairing various types of computer and communications equipment. This position requires interfacing with the customer concerning hardware problems on a regular basis. Additional responsibilities include: developing procedures, maintaining failure data, drawings, and equipment historical records to military standards. Ability to work a continuously rotating shift schedule, which includes weekends and holidays supporting 24/7 operations is required. Travel between Aurora, Boulder, and Colorado Springs, CO will be required. This position typically requires a technical Associates degree with concentration in engineering and physical science and six years for directly related engineering technical support experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Hand tools and special tools are also required. Key skills include: basic UNIX Operating Systems knowledge, basic UNIX platforms hardware knowledge (SGI preferred), knowledge of Cisco routers and swathes, and knowledge of military communication equipment and lines a plus. In addition, the ability to diagnose/troubleshoot/repair computer hardware components; prioritizing tasks; and organizational skills are required.
