Principal Systems Architect

PROGRAM: Missile Defense and Missile Warning Sensor Division
POSITION TITLE:  Principal Systems Architect; Product Manufacturing/Quality Assurance Manager, Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR)/COBRA DANE UPGRADE (CDU) System Safety Manager
SECURITY CLEARANCE/LEVEL REQUIRED:  Secret

PRIMARY FUNCTION(S)
- Provides systems engineering support to the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense, System Engineering, Integration, and Test Integrated Product Team for the UEWR/CDU programs.
- Performs hardware and software Product/Quality Assurance and  functions
- Performs hardware Production/Manufacturing Engineering functions
- Performs system safety functions
- Performs  LZSH cable management requirements duties for the Fylingdales UEWR site

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Duties include (but are not limited to): Represents UEWR/CDU programs at GMD Manufacturing Engineering and Mission Assurance Directorate (GMP) on a recurring basis.

(1) Performs UEWR/CDU Product Assurance/Quality Assurance manager functions:
- Performs monthly quality area assessments with GMP and BOEING reps
- Updates the ?Quality? portion of GMD Operations Center Dashboard (OCD)
- Performs quarterly quality assessments for the GMD CPAR
- Participates in  process verification reviews/audits, Ship Readiness Reviews
- Participates in program related  Quality Boards e.g., Quality Leadership Board, Corrective Action Board, Failure Review Board, et al

(2) Performs UEWR Production/Manufacturing manager functions:
- Participates in monthly GMD Manufacturing Engineering Working Group
- Performs monthly Manufacturing Capability Assessments with GMP/Boeing reps
- Participates in monthly Parts, Materials, and Processes Working Group (PMPWG)
- Performs annual Production Readiness Assessments
- Review/report contractor data items and production/manufacturing process

(3) UEWR System Safety manager
- Performs quarterly system safety  assessments for the GMD CPAR input
- Chairs joint government, contractor,  UEWR System Safety Working Group
- Represents UEWR Program Manager at GMD System Safety and Health WG
- Participates in monthly GMD Software Safety Working Group
- Participates in monthly GMD Environmental Safety & Occupational Health WG
- Represents UEWR/CDU with the Hazard Tracking System mitigation verifications
- Participates in safety related actions for all specification and contractor data items

(4) Fylingdales LSZH Cable Requirements manager
- Reviews with the contractor team and UK RAF on all cable requirements for compliance with UK JSP 480 requirements.  Coordinates concessions and waivers.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Degree Requirements: Bachelor?s engineering, computer science or related technical discipline
Relevant Experience (amount and type):  Ten (10) years experience in Quality/Product Assurance or Production Manufacturing

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Degree Requirements:  Master?s engineering, computer science or related technical discipline
Relevant Experience:  Twelve (12) years experience in Quality/Product Assurance including Production Manufacturing and Safety

Start Date: As soon as possible
Position Location: Bldg 1614, Hanscom AFB, MA
Travel: One TDY/quarter to Huntsville, AL.  Monthly local travel to Raytheon, Sudbury, MA
