Production Planner

Functional Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for Production Planning by work cell using the Material Ordering Schedule for order releases action and exception messages from the system. Perform MOS Analysis/Scheduling Adjustment Management. Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's productive capacity. Perform Requisition Planning, creation and maintenance as required. Analyzes material purchase order releases with respect to lot sizing, safety stock levels, capacity planning and material requirements. Manage inventory levels, transactions, back flushing process and schedules/availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules. Analyze floor stock with shelf life material requirements for production. Resolve all supply and demand issues by the assigned production work centers. Review work in process material, scrap, attrition and minimum maximum quantities for the production floor. Review Sales Orders against current requirements and work in process using the MOS. Manage engineering change implementation process for production cutovers. Release Purchase Orders for production material, floor stock items, MIN/MAX items and all purchases to support the production requirements. Lead effort to ensure Spare parts planning and execution. Work with management team including manufacturing personnel, Supply Chain, Inventory/Warehousing, Quality and Production Supervisors on material status and Production Planning issues. Continually reviews and coordinate production schedules with Master Scheduler to identify issues, concerns, roadblocks and work to alleviate such with appropriate team members to prevent line stoppages and delays. Performs other job related duties as assigned by management.

 

Desirable Qualifications: Bachelors degree preferred. Four plus years of manufacturing, inventory/warehousing control, production control/planning and scheduling experience. Working knowledge and understanding of fabrication processes with ability to formulate fabrication sequences and instructions from engineering data. Strong written and verbal communications skills required. Self starter with ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities efficiently (able to multi-task) to meet changing deadlines. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of multi-level Bill of Material Structure. Proficient in MS Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.). Demonstrated analytical and attention to detail skills.
