Senior Systems Engineer: Prior Contract Support and/or Military Experience

Duties : Provide program management and engineering support to the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), PEO IWS 1A1.  Interface with Government customer base, Field Activities, and other contractor representatives consistent with mission objectives of the SSDS Project Office.  Direct support to the PEO IWS 1A1 CV/Amphibious Ship Class Integration efforts.  Perform office management and administration duties to include (but not limited to): generation of Flag-level briefings, drafting documents and spreadsheets, participate in meetings, consolidate meeting minutes and action items, periodic reports, and ad hoc emergent actions.  Additionally, provide engineering support for the integration on SSDS and other ship Combat Systems element interfaces.  Assist the Task Lead and Program Manager meet deliverables, and retain customer satisfaction and professional working relationships. 

 

Travel Requirements: One trip to San Diego California for 5 days and single day travel to Field Activities and Prime Production Contractor every 60 days.

 

Qualifications: Minimum of a M.S. degree, preferably in an engineering field and 8 years work experience with an emphasis in Contractor Support or Military Experience.  Work experience of more than 14 years and a B.S. degree may waive M.S. degree requirement at hiring manager's discretion.  Must be able to operate personal computers and have detailed knowledge and operational experience with MICROSOFT Office tools, to include at a minimum, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, Explorer.  Experience using Project, Adobe Acrobat, Naval Message writing software is a plus.
