Becoming a Translator/Interpreter requires an enlistment in the United States Army Reserve (part-time). You will be required to complete 9 weeks of Basic Combat Training (BCT), immediately followed by Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at one of the Army's training locations. The location listed reflects only the location of your AIT. You will be assigned to a reserve unit in your local hometown area. During AIT you will learn Specific skills required to perform your duties during you weekend drills, two week annual training, and mobilizations. Some of your duties will include, but are not limited to preparing, and editing translations and conducts interpretations in English and foreign languages.
