Business Representative - Television
POSITION PURPOSE:
Business representative to sign producers to various collective bargaining agreements, to provide contract information and rulings to producers, members, etc., to enforce contracts, research and file claims, perform payroll audits, as needed and other duties as may be assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interprets and enforces contracts.Files claims on behalf of members for non-compliance and follows through to resolution or arbitration.Participates with the Legal department in arbitration preparation and by giving testimony during proceedings.
? Sign companies to collective bargaining agreements, including negotiating and obtaining all proper chain-of-title and required financial assurance documentsAnswer contract questions, provide rulings and contract interpretationResearch, investigate and file claims and follow through to resolution, including testifying at arbitrations as necessaryAudit productions for contract compliance on an as needed basisRepresent SAG through participation in various committees, workshops, seminars, panel discussions and speaking engagements in the industry. May also serve as a staff liaison to various SAG committees or other posts as may be assignedVarious special projects and research, as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

? Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
? Negotiating skills, able to negotiate with tact and diplomacy
? Able to use PC applications: MS Word and Excel
? Able to accurately type using a PC
? Detail oriented
? Able to work under deadlines
? Able to work under pressure
? Able to work independently
? Able to work effectively and diplomatically with others
? Capable of taking direction from more than one supervisor
? Must be able to work in a very stressful environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged
? Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG.
? Must be available and willing to travel to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
Undergraduate degree in Business, Labor Relations or related discipline and 5 to 7 years applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Legal knowledge/experience preferred due to the complexity of chain-of-title and financial assurances issues involved in the signatory process
