SAY San Diego, Inc. (Social Advocates for Youth) is a dynamic, locally based non-profit agency celebrating 35 years of dedication to the positive development of young people, their families and communities.

 

SAY is currently looking for a Case Manager to join our team.

 



COUNSELOR

 

SUMMARY

The Counselor is directly responsible to the SAY Reflections Supervisor. This position provides education, counseling, and prevention services to children, youth, and families referred to us through other agencies or within this agency.  The Counselor is to provide individual, group, and family counseling to the clients to assist in their mental health.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

?  Supervise and manage a full time caseload. 

?  Provide case management, counseling, and group services to children, youth and families in the Reflections program

?  Provide weekly in-home and on site services to the families and adolescents in the Reflections program

?  Maintain accurate updated case files, ensuring that all Medi-Cal paper work is up to date on a weekly basis and correctly account for

?  Complete discharge summaries

?  Co-facilitate Mult-Family Group on a six month rotation

?  Complete assessments and manage ? of the files from group

?  Co-Facilitate Anger-Management group on a  six month rotation

?  Complete assessments and manage ? of the files from group

?  Meet with the SAY Reflection Supervisor weekly to consult on case material

?  Maintain and aggregate casework statistical records for government contracts and turn in the last day of each month

?  Maintain on-going outreach and linkage building activities within the community, the schools and juvenile justice system

?  Have and maintain positive and supportive relationships with coworkers

?  Maintain accurate knowledge about the agency, its programs and service

?  Accurately represent the agency to and maintain positive working relationships with the general public, clients, funding sources, government bodies, etc.

?  Communicate positive and negative feedback from the community through your supervisor to management

?  Utilize appropriate opportunities to pursue positive public relations for the agency

?  Other tasks as assigned by the SAY Reflections Supervisor

 

QUALIFICATIONS

?  Master?s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field.  MSW/LCSW preferred.  LCSW/MFT licensing supervisions may be provided

?  Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

?  Knowledge and experience working with minority populations

?  Strong clinical skills in family therapy, group, and multi-family group therapy, and parent education

?  Direct experience/expertise in working with youth involved with the juvenile justice system, substance abuse, gang activity, and child abuse

?  Experience in providing casework/case management services

?  Skilled in providing clinical supervision to interns and student trainees

?  Access to reliable transportation and willing to use it for job-related tasks

?  Have a driving record that complies with SAY Driving Policies
