Control Room Operator - PART TIME AS NEEDED (day and weekend shifts only)

REPORTS TO:  Assistant Center Manager or A-V Supervisor, Clinical Skills Evaluation Center (CSEC)

 JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the daily recordings of USMLE? Step 2 CS administrations as well as the day to day maintenance of all CSEC control room audiovisual equipment including: AMX, DVDs, cameras, and associated equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Long periods of sitting, viewing live video monitors of evaluation encounters in the control room.  Standing, reaching, stretching and lifting up to 40 lbs.

EXPERIENCE

Prior video production and technical training helpful

 

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION

Associate?s degree or equivalent in relevant work experience.

 

SKILLS / ABILITIES

Able to watch video monitors and change camera positions simultaneously

Ability to problem solve quickly in a technical manner

Attention to detail

Competent with Windows NT, MS Word, MS Excel

Ability to learn other software specific to the job

Able to work well autonomously

Good judgment and professional discretion required

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Excellent verbal communication skills

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

I. During USMLE? Step 2 CS administrations: operates video tracking system; sets up audiovisual system and DVDs in the Control Room; works autonomously; acts as primary exam contact for all CSEC personnel; follows appropriate protocols and maintains confidentiality in communicating SP/Exam issues to AOD and TOD; and documents all irregularities of administration on incident reports.

II. Performs preventive maintenance on audiovisual equipment.

III. Provides technical expertise for CSEC center audiovisual equipment.

IV. Produces instructional videos for in-house use.

V. Conducts quality assurance inspections of examinee recordings.

VI. Provides training to CSEC personnel on safety procedures and proper use of audiovisual equipment, including training room recording system.

VII. Responsible for the overall production of in-house training videos.

VIII. Writes incident reports during the administration of the USMLE? Step 2 CS exam as necessary.Performs other duties as assigned by Center Manager, Assistant Center Manager, Audio-Visual Supervisor and/or Audio-Visual Coordinator.
