Coordinator, Readiness and Response

Everyone's input is valued. You'll be working with a visible and accessible management team. Responsibilities * Analyzes the hazard and disaster potential of the assigned community. Develops recommendations designed to mitigate such hazards using Red Cross disaster relief programs, services, and activities. * Organizes the community to become part of the Red Cross family. Through individuals and/or organizations, develops cooperative involvement in promoting disaster preparedness and hazard mitigation throughout the community. * Establishes and implements an effective system to promote immediate response to day-to-day disasters that may occur within the jurisdiction. Ensures response is available within one-hour of the time of call. * Recruits, trains, places, and supports a volunteer Disaster Action Team component that effectively provides immediate services to victims. Schedules team members for duty on a regular basis and assists in the evaluation of their performance. * Develops and maintains a system of twenty-four hour coverage for disaster services. * Ensures DAT members have sufficient and appropriate resources to effectively serve disaster victims. * Recruits, trains, and deploys volunteer instructors and general program volunteers to serve as instructors of community disaster education, international humanitarian law, etc. * Creatively implements ways in which the chapter is perceived in the minds of the community as the premier emergency service organization within the assigned jurisdiction. * Continuously increases the utilization volunteers in building organizational capacity at all levels; develops, trains, and supports volunteers in accomplishing and expanding the work of this unit. * Participates in periodic drills to test response capability. * Serves in a functional capacity during disaster operations of all types and sizes. * Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

BA in a related field and 2 years realted expereience.

Excellent verba/written communication, analytical, organizational, customer service, and marketing skils are required.
