The Database Marketing Portfolio Analyst will apply data mining and statistical analysis methodologies, including segmentation, profiling, and predictive modeling, to develop an in-depth understanding of ASA?s student loan portfolios, identify/forecast trends within the portfolio, and provide analytical support to projects designed to influence the composition and performance of the portfolios. Also, undertake other research and analysis projects as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  (e.g., in order to be considered qualified to perform this position, the person must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed below):Identify and apply appropriate data mining methodologies and statistical analyses designed to enable the Borrower Services division to: improve its understanding of the compositions of the Lender Held and Guarantor Held loan portfolios;identify trends affecting portfolio health;perform ?what-if? and other ad hoc analyses;support the development of business recommendations based on data modeling and statistical analysis, including the creation of charts, graphs, summaries of methodologies, and descriptive reports. Develop in-depth understanding of ASA data resources and how they are used to support ongoing portfolio analysis and predictive modeling.Apply intermediate-level, or more advanced, SQL scripting expertise to format and extract data from ASA systems.

 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Learn and apply new database and analytics software.

2.  Identify new sources of internal and external data to support specific research and analysis initiatives.

3.  Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor?s degree required, graduate degree preferred.  3-5 years experience with database marketing software, data mining, and/or statistical analysis and predictive modeling programs are required, as well as proficiency with SQL.
