Development Driector

Working in partnership with the Chicago Department on Aging (CDoA) and the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD), Meals on Wheels Chicago raises the funding to provide desperately needed services that would otherwise not be covered due to reduced government support. Meals on Wheels Chicago is seeking an extraordinary candidate to join our organization as our Development Director.  This position is based in downtown Chicago. 


Reporting to the Board of Directors, this position is will focus on event planning, development, promotions, solicitation and major gifts prospects.  It will develop a planned giving and endowment program, sponsorship opportunities, events and donation prospects and will promote the organization through direct contacts.

We are seeking an individual who is organized and professional, who possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), who has good telephone skills, and who possesses a desire to work independently.

Seeking an individual with previous experience in a non-for-profit development environment.  Strong Microsoft Office and Razors Edge software experience required. Four plus years of fund raising/event planning experience preferred.
