The Institute Director
? Establishes and evaluates programs to fulfill AOTF?s short- and long-term objectives and strategies
? Strengthens AOTF?s partnerships and interdisciplinary connections.
? Interprets social policy and design and implements programs to stimulate the development and excellence of occupational therapy science and education.
? Works with Exec. Dir. to stimulate the Institute?s size, visibility, external funding, and impact.

Education and Experience ? PhD, EdD, or ScD ? Eligible for senior faculty appointment. ? 5+ years of progressive leadership experience as a manager and/or scholar in research, higher education, or social policy.

The American Occupational Therapy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) created in 1965 to advance the science of occupational therapy and increase public understanding of occupational therapy?s value through research and education.
Among the programs that AOTF has funded have been mentoring and faculty development and Centers for Research and Education (most notably at the University of Illinois at Chicago.) AOTF has been instrumental in helping universities transition to the master's degree entry to the profession.
AOTF houses the library with the most resources on or for occupational therapy and it publishes OTJR: Occupation, Participation and Health.
AOTF offers scholarships through memorial endowments and partnerships with state associations and funds dissertation research grants.
