Fred Finch Youth Center is a non profit, human services agency which provides residential care and community based services in over a dozen counties throughout California.

Position Summary ?
The Director of Development coordinates all fundraising efforts, public relations and related special events on behalf of the Fred Finch Youth Center. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and supervises a full time Grants Writer, a Special Events consultant, and a full time Administrative Assistant.

Specific responsibilities/duties include ?
? Works in collaboration with the Board of Directors Development Committee and the Management Team to develop, oversee and implement a comprehensive, feasible and balanced three-year fundraising plan that includes:
a. Private foundations and family funds;
b. Annual appeals, annual report;
c. Special events (including already established "signature event");
d. In-kind acquisitions;
e. Public relations and community outreach;
f. Individual giving and major donor campaigns.
? Maintains and cultivates on-going relationships with private foundation officers and individual donors:
a. Creates along with Board Development Committee and Executive Director a strategy for donor cultivation including events follow-up;
b. Maintains donor and foundation files and coordinates donor appreciation mechanisms;
c. Assures prompt contribution and in-kind gift processing and acknowledgement.
? Along with the CFO, develops and monitors Development Office Budget.
? Coordinates monthly reports to the Executive Director and to the Board of Directors.

Qualifications ?
1) Minimum of five years experience in Development
2) Experience in major gifts and donor cultivation
3) Excellent verbal and written skills
4) Strong word processing and computer skills
5) Strong organizational and supervisory skills
7) Ability to work on deadlines
8) Ability to work both as a team member and independently.
