Director of Membership Affairs

The U.S.-Russia Business Council is a nonprofit, lobbying trade association that represents the trade and investment interests of 300 member companies operating in the Russian market.  The Council seeks to expand and enhance the U.S.-Russian commercial relationship by assisting its members in a variety of ways, including: issue advocacy with both the U.S. and Russian governments; company-specific assistance in the form of troubleshooting and new business development; providing information and analysis to support business decisions; and providing access and networking opportunities such as briefings with government officials and private-sector leaders.  For further information about the Council, visit our website at www.usrbc.org.

 

The successful candidate will have a B.A. or higher; business development and marketing experience with proven results; knowledge of Russian affairs gained through prior work or study; and experience in a corporate or trade association environment.  In addition to well-developed writing skills, applicants should possess strong interpersonal and presentation skills, and demonstrated comfort utilizing them with senior executives.  Russian language skills a plus.

 

The Director of Membership Affairs will have four primary areas of responsibility.

 Membership Development

Promote organizational growth by managing marketing campaigns and targeted outreach to potential member companies, including travel within the U.S. and to Russia to reach audiences of potential new members.  Research company activity in Russia, maintain company recruiting files and implement multifaceted strategy to attract new members.  Oversee enrollment of new members and their integration into related outreach/retention strategies below.

 Membership Outreach

Manage regular organizational contact with 300 member companies, including relationships among company executives and transitions due to turnover or mergers.  Oversee information support systems, and lead team development of strategies for optimal member communication, knowledge sharing and company involvement.

 Membership Retention

Manage all aspects of the organization?s effort to retain existing members, based on systematic integration of outreach and retention strategies.  Design and implement annual membership renewal campaign, including background research and follow-up mechanisms.

 Membership Services

Function as member of professional team to provide member services in response to demand-driven needs, including coordination of a financial-services or other issue-based working group.  Contribute to a variety of information products covering a range of topics in U.S.-Russian relations, and consult on content and application of organization?s website.
